The Wimshurst's Machine: Music
Across the seas (of Space)
(Traditional, rearranged by Augusto Chiarle)
Jazzy electronic song, inspired by an old irish tune, played by a warm saxophone, an irish voice and a flute.
The electronic drums and spatial effects let the listener dream of some kind of space travel (across the seas... of space!). The tenor saxophone leads into a moody and emotional irish song, dueting with a flute and a whistle. A female vocalist and indian tablas completes the tune.
As always you may see how "interdisciplinar" are our songs. World music, electronics, jazz... a bit of everything. We like this song a lot (as always, Augusto's taste for irish music... he did already like the original irish tune, here changed quite a lot to become an ambient melody). As all of our tracks, is ideally a soundtrack, as you'll see.
When this track was recorded, Augusto's tenor saxophone (a glorious Selmer Mark VII tenor) had a tuning problem (now fixed... but the recording was already made, and we were in a hurry to finish the recording in time to publish it...), and hope you may forgive it! :-)
